About the Atelier
Floral design workshops by Anita Huedepohl, AIFD, CFD.
bluumin is the teaching atelier of Anita Huedepohl, a floral designer and educator working across studio, wedding, and large-scale event florals. This site is where the studio's workshops and sessions are offered: hands-on training in bridal design, floral installation at scale, tablescape and celebration work, corporate brand florals, and the business of running a profitable design practice. Each session is curated by hand and limited to a small number of seats, and places are requested rather than bought outright, so groups stay small and the teaching stays personal.
What a session covers
Sessions run as studio masterclasses in Los Angeles, destination residencies on location, and private one-to-one intensives. Guests work with real briefs and full-scale materials, covering mechanics, proportion and silhouette, armature engineering, sourcing and conditioning, on-site installation, and photographing finished work for a portfolio. Materials, tools and blooms are provided, so designers can concentrate on technique rather than logistics. The bridal programme spans spiral stemming and couture hand-tied work; the installation programme teaches armatures that carry mass safely; the destination residencies read a landscape for palette and material; and the business intensive covers pricing, positioning, proposals and contracts.
Who the atelier is for
The atelier is built for working florists, studio owners, event designers and planners, career changers moving into floral work, and couples who want their own celebration designed with real intent. Whether a designer is refining a signature bridal silhouette, learning to carry a large-scale installation safely, or pricing their work with confidence, each session is designed to be applied to live projects and proposals the following week.
Who builds and teaches the studio
AIFD · Held by fewer than 1% of floral designers
The studio is led by Anita Huedepohl, AIFD, CFD — a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers and a Certified Floral Designer. AIFD accreditation is held by fewer than one percent of floral designers worldwide, awarded only after a juried demonstration of design mastery. Her work spans private weddings, galas and brand events alongside teaching, and the atelier works between Los Angeles, Nashville, New York and Amsterdam by appointment. Anita reads every request for a seat personally, and new sessions are announced through this site before they are offered publicly.
